MEET GP.

Born and raised in Perry, Georgia, Gracie Potts is drawn to tradition blended with the contemporary. She studied Art Education at the University of Georgia, earning her BFA with a minor in Studio Art. Her time at the Lamar Dodd School of Art opened doors and instilled the confidence Gracie needed to take her art practice seriously.

Inspired by painters such as Cy Twombley, Helen Frakenthaler, and Mark Rothko, Gracie uses a language of color and composition to communicate theme. Gracie’s paintings are homage to love, life, faith, music and various different muses. Her abstracted pieces are an attempt to push viewers to find their own meaning and language within a painting. She believes there is no better feeling than having a piece of art ‘speak to you’

Gracie finds comfort and inspiration in the quote “Art is the lie that makes us realize the truth”

Back in her beloved hometown, Gracie works as e-commerce head and marketing assistant for James Farmer Designs while she grows and evolves her studio practices.
