Meet the Artist

Meet the Artist

Gracie Pearson Potts (b. 2002) is a mixed media painter whose work explores the boundaries of color, composition, and space. Repeating patterns, organic shapes, and complementary color palettes which are recurring elements in much of her work.

Though Gracie has been an artist her entire life, it wasn’t until college that she fully committed to developing her craft in painting. While she received formal training in oil painting, she quickly fell in love with the speed and spontaneity of acrylics. Her passion for abstract painting grew after meeting Joseph Norman, a professor and mentor. She is also inspired by color field pioneers like Helen Frankenthaler and Mark Rothko, as well as other influential artists such as Joan Mitchell, Cy Twombly, David Hockney, and Edward Hopper.

Gracie earned her BFA in Art Education from the University of Georgia in 2024. She now lives in her hometown of Perry, Georgia with her husband, Davis, and their Brittany Spaniel, Lily, who serves as her "studio assistant."
