What's What this March

So I’ve been thinking a lot about a realistic expectation that I can upload blogs and that sort of thing on here... verdict’s out, it’s probably not all that often, BUT I would like to have something on here at least once (hopefully) twice a month. I don’t know about you but I love to see what other artists or designers are up to. One of my favorites is the Swells email updates where Wells just kind of shares what she’s been up to and allllll the things. So, I thought I would give a go at that.

In my studio:

This month was the launch of the Spring Showers collection and I seriously had the best time pulling together this collection. Sometimes it feels like my brain and heart are in so many places artistically (and personally) that it can be hard to pin everything down to one idea, but Spring Showers was a good practice in that. On the flip of this, after the collection was out, I felt a little scattered on where to go next. I dove headfirst in making lampshades (odd I know) and it was AMAZING. The art of crafting is so healing and inspiring for the little Gracie in me that always wanted to be an artist so in a lot of ways it feels like my roots to just find materials and make something. I also recently acquired some scrap wallpaper samples and they have been inspiring me in so many ways. All that to say this: my studio is a wreck, but I feel so energized that I cannot clean it (oops)

ALSO,,,, hey I've got some works available right now:

Other musings:

  • I have been eyeing barrel jeans for months and always come back to these. Cheetah print is obviously a neutral btw... https://a.co/d/7Sn5xHt
  • Alison Duncan’s new tennis paintings are superb. “Barb and Constance and a Pink Court” is my personal fav. Barb and Constance and a Pink Court
  • An artist I have been LOVING lately is Hope Olson. She just has such an impressive grasp on color and narrative. Seriously so amazing I love all her work, but specifically love her show from last January at Anne Irwin titled “Welcome to the Neighborhood” check it out. Welcome To The Neighborhood — Hope Olson
  • Okay last thing... just because these are the best snack ever and so easy, I have to share. No-Bake Energy Bites
